The top chart compares, in bar graph form, the Yearly % Profit on the S&P 500 in green and the 401k trading system in red. At the right hand side of the graph is a summary of the compounded annual return for each system over the period shown in the graph.
The second chart is similar to the first except that it displays the Yearly % daily Max Drawdown. One use of this chart is to simply scan across the years and see the typical year by year maximum daily drawdown that can be expected to be experienced. Also, you can see the magnitude of a black swan drawdown that occasionally can happen (e.g., 2008).
